Artist Bio
I was born in Odder, Denmark in 1976. Since 1996, I’ve been living in Copenhagen, where I am educated at the Danish Academy of Fine Arts, including a one year stay at the art academy of Nantes (ERBAN), France.
I do sculptural work and happenings, a method that evolved from my interest in drawing. I believe that art should interact with its surroundings, also when it’s away from the usual art context of museums and galleries.
I work with a wide range of materials, my favourites being tape, glue and foam rubber. Besides that I do bronze casting, marble carving and model building. My work has a special focus on enhancement of the I-feeling and the importance of personal judgement. I like to summon up some kind of story when I work. I believe this is an influence from the immense amount of comic books I read as a kid.
